“She loved being a Mommy and was looking forward to their growing family.”
That’s how a GoFundMe page described Jen Anderson-Flegel, the woman killed in a 10 vehicle collision near Pense, about 34 kilometres west of Regina, during last week’s blizzard.
Carrie Cardinal created the campaign to raise money for Jen’s husband, Jeremy, and their two-year-old son Bennett. Cardinal is a mortgage broker who helped the family with their new house this past summer.
She told the 980 CJME Morning Show she was devastated when she heard Jen had been killed in the crash.
“I couldn’t sleep and I was thinking I have to do something, what can I do,” Carrie said.
She then decided the best way to help the family was to do something to help them out financially.
After the page was created, she began asking the people of Saskatchewan to lend a hand.
“It doesn’t matter if you were born here or you just moved here last week, we help people in the time of need,” Carrie said. “We rallied around those who need us.”
The goal of the campaign is to raise $30,000. You can make a donation here.
