Mistaya and Koda, two grizzly bears, are awake after over three months in hibernation.
“We monitored the bears throughout their first hibernation, gathering data that can be used in future research projects,” said Tim Sinclair-Smith, Manager at the zoo.
It is the first time the pair have hibernated in 10 years.
Both bears were orphaned in the wild and met at the Calgary Zoo before being transferred together to Saskatoon.
