3 men, woman charged after guns, drugs seized from Regina home

A high-risk search warrant executed at a home on the 100 block of Dorothy Street led to 60 charges for three men and one woman Saturday night.

Due to the likelihood of guns being present, SWAT and crisis negotiators were called to the scene.

Around 9:45 p.m., four people were found in the garage at the home and were arrested without incident.

Police said they found six bags of what officers believed to be cocaine after searching one of the men.

During a search of the buildings and property, police said they found the following items:

• A quantity of substance believed to be cocaine
• A quantity of substance believed to be methamphetamine
• A sawed-off shotgun and three large magazines of ammo
• A second shotgun, registered but improperly stored
• A rifle with a drum magazine full of ammo
• A second rifle, registered but improperly stored
• Shotgun ammo
• A handgun with ammo
• Assorted loose ammo
• Assorted bladed weapons
• a bullet proof vest
• Numerous stolen items including stereo speakers and a television
• A number of cell phones and drug paraphernalia, including pipes, scales and baggies

A search warrant was obtained for a second home on the 100 block of Rink Avenue.

That search took place around 2 a.m. on March 19 but police said nothing of significance was found.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joshua Lewis Daniels, 34-year-old Arthur Peter Velychko, 26-year-old Nathan Louie Ledoux and 28-year-old Jennifer Lynn Bear, all from Regina, are facing 60 charges.

The charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking, careless use of a firearm and ammunition and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

Velychko faced additional charges including careless use of a firearm and ammunition and possession of a prohibited device.

Daniels is also charged with two charges of breach of undertaking.

All four appeared in court Monday morning.
