Carrot River RCMP are investigating a sudden death which occurred early Saturday Morning.
Mounties from the local detachment were called to a complaint of a male in the middle of the road early in the morning of April 1. Police and paramedics responded, but the 27-year-old male from Red Earth Cree Nation was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP said their initial investigation revealed the deceased may have been struck by a vehicle, and a wider investigation is currently underway which includes Carrot River RCMP and the collision reconstruction unit along with Prince Albert General Investigation Section and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
An autopsy will take place next week in Regina.
