Saturday night was a busy one for Regina police as a 19-year-old man allegedly carried out a series of crimes that resulted in more than 40 charges.
It started with a call to police about a man with a gun chasing a woman down the 1400 block of Robinson Street around 5:45 p.m.
Police said the caller also reported a man had been shot in the neck. When officers arrived, however, they found the man had actually been struck on the back of his head. He was taken to hospital by EMS.
Police said officers saw the suspect on the 1400 block of Robinson and challenged him to leave his house. According to officials, the man surrendered.
Officers then searched his home, where the suspect’s clothing and modified gun was reportedly found.
The arrest resulted in numerous complaints.
Police said officers found evidence that the suspected had attempted to rob a man and woman. Authorities also allege he pointed a gun at an 11-year-old child.
Police added there is evidence 36-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in a parking lot on the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue.
Kashtin Wade Hunter, 19, faces 41 charges, including sexual assault, assault with a weapon, robbery with a prohibited firearm, breach of probation and several gun-related charges.
Hunter appeared in court in Regina Monday morning.
