A Knoxville, Tenn. man has been charged with child pornography offences after a stop at the North Portal border crossing last Friday.
Canadian border services agents searched the man, which reportedly resulted in them finding what was suspected to be child pornography on electronic devices. The man was arrested and turned over to the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
RCMP said the ICE Unit confirmed it was child pornography. The man was arrested and held in custody.
Brandon Eugene Johnson, 43, has been charged with one count of child pornography and one count of importation of child pornography.
He appeared in Provincial Court in Estevan on Monday morning.
RCMP said Canadian Border Services Agency seized child pornography from travellers in Saskatchewan on six different occasions in 2016.
