Armed robbery, assault lead to charges against 3 Regina men

Three men in their 20s are facing charges connected with an alleged assault, armed robbery and firearm discharge.

Regina police said the investigation into the incident started around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when officers received a call about the sound of a gunshot in the area of the 400 block of Mullin Avenue.

Officers determined that suspects with a firearm went into a home on the 400 block of Mullin Avenue.

As police were assessing the situation, an injured 46-year-old man arrived at the Regina Police Headquarters building to report he was the victim of an assault and robbery in the same location.

The investigation revealed the man was inside a vehicle in the area of the 200 block of Broadway Avenue. That is when three men allegedly approached him and demanded money.

Police said the man was assaulted, and during this time, a gun shot was fired.

Police confirmed the man was not hit by the gun shot, but rather, it went through the windshield.

The victim ran away and the suspects got away with money, cigarettes and other items.

Police said around 2:30 p.m. a number of people exited the house on Mullin Avenue and were taken into custody. A search of the home found a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, a homemade firearm, a baton, two knives, and personal items belonging to the victim.

Jesse Derrick Fink, 25, Dakota Netmaker, 21, and Tage Nagy, 20, are all facing charges including armed robbery.

All three accused made their first court appearance in Regina on Wednesday.
