The news of Jeffrey Orridge being out as commissioner after two years in the CFL was met with the usual.
More criticism of the man in the job than the people who hired them.
The Green Zone was at fault for that but what wasn’t said enough was the board of governors have to wear this as much as Jeffrey Orridge.
They did a lengthy search for the top job and decided on a CBC Sports executive who, in his introductory news conference, already seemed a little out of the loop on the CFL.
He tried, no doubt he tried, but a few months later his first of his two state of the league news conferences was a disaster.
And many pondered: they hired him?
So, as we critique the missteps of Orridge, it all started in the board room where the board of governors decided he was the best option.
Will they learn? I guess that all depends on who they hire to replace him.
