Classic cars will be shining at Praireland Park this weekend for the 57th annual Draggins car show.
“It gets pretty competitive among car lovers,” President of Draggins Car Club, Bruno Konecsni told the Brent Loucks show Thursday morning.
The car show runs Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Over $10,000 in trophies and cash awards are up for grabs and admission is $15.
While the car show started in 1960, the Draggins will be celebrating their 60th anniversary this weekend.
“In 1957 a bunch of guys went to Edmonton for a car show, but on the way back in the car they planned on making their own club and car show and that’s how we were born,” he said.
Proceeds from the event go to Camp Easter Seal, the only wheelchair-accessible camp facility in the province.
The Draggins have raised $1.6 million for the organization since they began.
