City Centre Church kicks the holiday meals off with a Sunday Service and lunch at 11:30 a.m.
On Monday the Friendship Inn takes a turn hosting.
“We get a lot of gratitude and a lot of tears because the people are joyed that someone thought of them,” Volunteer Coordinator for the Friendship Inn, Jody Buckley said.
Buckley said more ham and vegetable donations would be appreciated as they anticipate serving as many as 2,000 people.
“We want our guests to feel special and have that special holiday meal,” she said.
In a facebook post, The Friendship Inn said an outpouring of support meant they had more than enough volunteers for Monday’s meal.
