RCMP have upgraded an armed robbery investigation to a homicide after a restaurant owner died of injuries sustained in the incident.
According to police, men in masks went into Louisiana’s Bar-B-Que in La Ronge last Saturday, assaulted the owner, Simon Grant, 64, and fled with cash.
Grant was found inside the business with serious injuries and taken to La Ronge Hospital before being airlifted to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
An update from RCMP said Grant succumb to his injuries Monday.
Now police are hoping to talk to anyone that was around the restaurant on the evening of April 15.
Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
