Joining over 500 cities around the world, Saskatoon marched in support of science Saturday afternoon in Victoria Park.
“Science matters,” medical science professor, Claire Card said. “We should be making decisions on evidence instead of alternative truth or alternative fact.”
Hundreds held signs which read: ‘planet before profit’, ‘keep that coal in the hole’ and ‘every day is earth day’.
Marchers sang songs, marched throughout the downtown and held an eco-science fair.
“Journalists need to listen to scientists,” Mark Bigland-Pritchard with Climate Justice Saskatoon said. “We also need to find journalists that have a scientific background.”
The rallies coincided with Earth Day.
