Gin recalled for containing too much alcohol

A gin recall issued in Ontario has been expanded to Saskatchewan.
 
The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) issued a notice on Wednesday recalling 1.14-litre bottles of Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin.
 
The recall was first issued in Ontario Tuesday after the bottles were found to contain as much as 77 per cent alcohol, rather than the 40 per cent displayed on the label.
 
The issue arose after a batch of the gin was bottled before being properly diluted, according to Health Canada.
 
In Saskatchewan, the province’s liquor stores have been ordered to pull the bottles off their shelves.
 
The recall applies to bottles marked with the lot number L16304w.
 
Anyone in Saskatchewan who purchased one of the affected bottles can return it to any liquor retailer for a full refund.
