The Sidney Crosby injury has divided hockey fans. That much was clear on the Green Zone.
Some believe Matt Niskanen got off lucky with no added suspension to his five-minute major and game misconduct handed to Niskanen from Game 3.
Others believe the five and game were too much.
There is a group that says Crosby had it coming for all of his past transgressions or maybe it was Crosby’s body position that got him in trouble.
Oh, and let’s not forget about Alexander Ovechkin’s contribution to the debate. Many believe Ovechkin’s slash just before the Niskanen hit should be a suspension, despite Ovechkin not even getting a penalty for the slash.
The previous have been typical sports debate but there is one thing that is getting way too much attention. That is the possibility the Capitals players only meeting included some sort of bounty on Crosby’s head.
C’mon. The Washington Capitals didn’t call a players-only meeting to discuss how to injure Sidney Crosby. That meeting was about how the heck the Capitals don’t blow a great regular season again, although injuring Sidney Crosby is going to help Washington tremendously.
