A school on the Cote First Nation was in lockdown Wednesday morning as RCMP dealt with a tense situation on the roof of the building.
Kamsack RCMP were called to the Chief Gabriel School at 9 a.m. to the report of a man brandishing a knife at the school.
RCMP said the man was found on the roof of the school and that he came down at 10:30 a.m. and was arrested without incident.
No staff or students were injured during the incident but for safety reasons, the school initiated its lockdown procedure. That has since been lifted.
RCMP said the investigation is ongoing. Police were unable to release further information about the man and if he had any relationship to Chief Gabriel School, located northeast of Yorkton.
