Ottawa Senators Head Coach Guy Boucher highlighted the problem in the NHL as he was unable to find the ability to differentiate from the game the fans watch and the games he watches.
When asked about if his style of hockey is worth watching, Boucher responded by saying he’s not watching, he’s coaching.
Well, we definitely aren’t going to argue with the Ottawa head coach because we know as fans that entertainment won’t be the highest priority in the nation’s capital.
It is 1-1 and 1-0 after the first 60 minutes of the first two games of this series.
If you ask Boucher again, he won’t be telling you about the importance of having an exciting product for a coach but having a system in place that will win when you don’t have the skill to keep up.
Yawn. Wake us up when it’s over.
When watching Phil Kessel lose his temper and freak out like a toddler who was told they won’t get dessert unless they eat their vegetables is the most exciting thing during a game, you have a problem with your entertainment product.
But hockey people will never change it so long as ‘get pucks deep’ is the most popular cliché. Especially when coaches are running the show.
