Saskatchewan’s provincial parks are officially open for camping season.
As in past years, an alcohol ban will be in place for the May long weekend, going into effect for 2017 from May 18-22.
With some parks just getting prepared for visitors, the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport encouraged people to check ahead to determine if their park of choice has all services up and running.
Provincial parks will be taking part in Canada 150 celebrations this year, with free day entry offered for Canada Day, July 1 and for Canada Parks Day on July 15.
Campsites at Blackstrap, Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain and Rowan’s Ravine are available for reservations to the end of September.
Last year saw a record of nearly 4 million visits to the province’s parks.
