A Saskatoon taxi driver is unharmed after two women allegedly pulled a knife before stealing the cab Thursday morning.
Police said the women entered the taxi at the intersection of Clarence Avenue and Taylor Street around 4 a.m., when one of them threatened the driver with a knife.
The woman demanded the cab driver get out and once clear, the other woman got behind the wheel and the pair drove away in the taxi.
Police found the cab driving near Laurentian Drive and tried to stop it, but the car evaded police.
Shortly after, the taxi crashed into a fence in Lakeview Park.
According to police, the women then tried to run away on foot and were arrested.
A 31-year-old woman faces charges of robbery, dangerous driving, evading police, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and breach of probation.
Another woman, 26, is charged with robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Both women were expected in court Thursday afternoon.
