It now appears that the super fight between UFC’s Conor McGregor and boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather is all up to the boxer with the undefeated record.
McGregor and UFC promoter Dana White have signed a deal that is lacking two signatures. One being Floyd Mayweather. The other being Mayweather’s promoter.
But what is actually in this fight for Floyd Mayweather other than the ridiculous paycheque, which he doesn’t actually need.
Mayweather has nothing to gain out of this except, again, all that money.
He retired an undefeated champion. Nobody could beat him. He did his super fight already with Manny Pacquaio and beat him like he beat everybody who ever stepped into the ring.
McGregor, meanwhile, would never be picked to win this boxing match. He can’t kick, hold, strangle, arm bar, leg lock or spear. He has to stay on his feet.
He’s supposed to lose.
Mayweather puts his unblemished record and a bit of his reputation on the line if he were to lose. Can he still argue he’s the best ever?
Why would he actually want this fight?
Oh, yeah. The money.
