Judging by his haunting, sad-faced mug shot, Tiger Woods was in no shape to drive a vehicle.
That’s not intended to be funny. There will be no jokes here about Woods’ arrest for driving under the influence Monday morning near his Florida home. There’s nothing to be humourous about.
Law enforcement officials did not initially describe the circumstances of his arrest. Woods claims he was mixing painkillers, not realizing their potency. Michael Jackson and Prince are among the celebrities whose deaths could be tied to painkillers.
Whenever someone gets charged with DUI, there’s something to be concerned about. First is the danger to an impaired driver and anyone within range. Second is the driver’s health.
The world has watched Woods’ fall from grace. Back injuries derailed his golfing prowess. His philandering lifestyle ended his marriage. His use of intoxicants — alcohol or drugs — led to his arrest.
Can things get better for Tiger? There’s always hope.
