Wray Morrison: Rider identity forming under Jones

To some, the Saskatchewan Roughriders had an identity crisis after Chris Jones took over prior to the 2016 season.
 
There was a lack of knowledge of players from supporters, and perhaps a lack of chemistry which led to a five-win season. Injuries also played a role in what went wrong in 2016.

Now that we are six days in to training camp, there is less talk about Darian Durant and others who now play for other teams.
 
Kevin Glenn is no stranger to CFL fans so his return, for a third time, helps.
 
Rob Bagg and Brendon Labatte are also staples in this new-look team.
 
Then there was the signing of Anthony Allen on Friday.
 
Allen, who played 28 games in two seasons, helped cushion the blow following the departure of Kory Sheets after the 2013 season.
 
As Jones starts his second season, there is less of an identity crisis. I find supporters to be more on board than they were a month ago.

That will continue, as long as the team wins.
