It’s the annual CFL pre-season debate: should all nine pre-season games be televised or not?

Last night was the first game of the exhibition schedule when the B.C. Lions took on the Calgary Stampeders and you didn’t get to see Canadian Andrew Buckley.

Now the debate is not as simple as yes or no.

The production costs of a CFL game are well into the six figures and you aren’t going to get the bang for the buck.

The games themselves, by the third and fourth quarter, can be extremely tough to watch, which is why TSN doesn’t put them all on one of their five channels.

But if the CFL has a problem with it, they could help pick up the costs of some of the production, even with a smaller scale crew.

I think there is more value in the league getting some streaming online for these games than there is TSN to break their programming.

In the age of Facebook live and periscope, there should be way fans get to see these games if they want them.
