Rent reduced for riders, early budget items approved by Regina Council

Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
People will be able to get a closer look at Camp Dundurn at the Canada Remembers Our Heroes Airshow this weekend.
“It’s going to give several thousands of people a chance to be approved to be on site and enjoy the afternoon and meet some of the military folks from yesteryear and today,” Event organizer Brian Swidrovich said.
Swidrovich said the Canadian Forces Snowbirds aeorobatics team will hit the sky for their first appearance after cancelling several shows to brush up their training.
There will be a demonstration from a Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet.
The Hornet is painted to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary.
“It’s worth twenty dollars just to see this particular aircraft,” Swidrovich said.
The Canadian Armed Forces Skyhawks parachute team will also be making an appearance.
The event runs on Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 11 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance. They are available at Saskatoon Shell Stations and Legions. Children 12 and under are free. As well as veterans and spouses, Canadian Forces members and children are free with Military I.D.
The opening ceremonies will take place at 1 p.m. and will consist of a parade of heroes. This gives people plenty of time to roam the grounds before the action begins.
