A man from Marshall has pleaded guilty to over 40 child pornography charges.
Shane Dale Pattison, 27, entered guilty pleas at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench on Friday.
He faced 42 charges of possessing and distributing child porn.
Pattison was previously given one of the longest sentences in Saskatchewan history for child porn in 2012.
He was arrested again when officers found him looking at child pornography at the Salvation Army while on statutory release in 2016.
According to the agreed statement of facts read in court, more than 4,000 pieces of child pornography were found on Pattison’s devices.
The Crown noted that more than 1,300 investigations have been opened in Canada and the U.S. as a result of the files found in Pattison’s possession.
Pattison will be back in court next month for sentencing.
At that time, the Crown said they may seek a dangerous offender designation.
