A traffic stop on the 2300 block of 8th Street East Saturday night ended with an officer assaulted and a 31-year-old man tased.
According to police, after a vehicle was pulled over around 9:10 p.m. they discovered the driver had Criminal Code and Traffic Safety Act warrants.
When officers attempted to arrest him he began assaulting one of the officers at the scene.
A conducted energy weapon was used to subdue the man.
MD Ambulance paramedics checked him before the 31-year-old was taken to Saskatoon Police Service Detention.
The officer involved had some scrapes but didn’t need medical treatment.
The suspect is charged with intent to resist arrest, obstruction, and the outstanding warrants.
