Sarah Mills: We came so close to the zipper merge
Three block of two lanes of traffic merging one by one, with everyone inching forward. It was the zipper merge in action...
RCMP are seeing a new wrinkle in a long-running scam.
The Humboldt RCMP detachment issued a release early Wednesday morning warning people about phony emails claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
The emails reportedly claim to contain an Interac e-transfer of money from the tax agency.
However, by accepting the fake transfer, victims in fact allow scammers to access their computers and banking information.
Police noted the CRA will never send an e-transfer, as they handle refunds only by cheque or direct deposit.
RCMP have previously issued warnings about fraudsters impersonating the CRA in phone calls attempting to pressure people to send money.
