An elderly Regina woman had a rude awakening Wednesday morning.
Police said the 76-year-old was in bed when a suspected drunk driver crashed into her bedroom.
According to police, the impact moved her bed away from the wall, while debris from the walls and ceiling littered the room.
She was still in bed calling for help when officers arrived on scene at her home near Second Avenue North and Osborne Street around 2 a.m.
Police said the vehicle was on its side and the house was significantly damaged. Two men were reportedly outside the vehicle, another in the car.
The woman reportedly had no apparent injuries but EMS took her to hospital for assessment. EMS also took the three men from the car. A fourth male passenger contacted Regina police Wednesday afternoon, reporting only minor injuries.
The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle was charged with three counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm. He was released on an undertaking and will appear in court on July 11.
