A Regina resident took an alleged thief into their own hands – literally.
Police were called to an east end home Tuesday around 5:20 p.m. for the report of a stolen truck.
According to police, the caller had the suspect on the ground when officers arrived.
Police said the truck was stolen sometime overnight Monday and that the suspect allegedly used the owner’s credit cards. The owner was able to identify the suspect.
Police said the suspect was also subject of warrants so he was arrested.
A 26-year-old Regina man was charged with breach of recognizance, obstructing a peace officer, theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
The truck has been recovered.
