A 59-year-old woman faces drunk driving charges after a crash that killed one man and sent another to hospital over the weekend.
Estevan RCMP responded to a two-car crash just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 39 west of Bienfait.
Police said a westbound SUV collided with a southbound car at the intersection.
The driver of the car, 35-year-old Bisho Kalappurakkal of Estevan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV, 59-year-old Debra Hamann of Bienfait, was charged with impaired driving causing death, driving while over .08 causing death and dangerous driving causing death.
Hamann’s next court appearance is Aug. 14 in Estevan.
