Finding a reason to have a drink at Country Thunder Saskatchewan won’t be a problem this weekend — staying safe in the heat might be.
Temperatures are expected to get near the mid-30’s C over the weekend.
Environment Canada meteorologist David Phillips warned this weather could be dangerous.
“I think the issue for this weekend will be the heat and the safety, the health reasons,” Phillips told the 980 CJME Morning Show. “These temperatures could be lethal.”
He said it’s important people stay properly shaded from the sun.
“Cowboys hats don’t provide enough shade for what you need.”
He encouraged everyone to take care of themselves and their neighbours during the weekend with the heat.
Gates for Country Thunder opened at 9 a.m. Tuesday. They are open until 10 p.m. daily.
Headliners for this year’s show include Toby Keith, Keith Urban and Blake Shelton.
