Two men and a teenager are facing multiple charges following a search warrant in Regina.
On Tuesday, police executed a search warrant for firearms at a residence in the 1500 block of Argyle Street.
As officers were getting ready to enter the home, a man was seen leaving the house and going into a nearby home. Eventually, the man exited the second house and was detained by police.
While the man was inside the second home, two other people, named in the warrant, exited the first home with a backpack and duffle bag, and were seen getting into a vehicle.
Police conducted a traffic stop and found two modified firearms, four machetes, an expandable baton, brass knuckles and ammunition. The two people were then arrested.
Once police were able to execute the search warrant on the residence on Argyle Street, they found more weapons including machetes, a hatchet and more ammunition.
The police investigation led to charges against all three people.
A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing 10 charges. The charges include careless use of a firearm (sawed-off .22 caliber), careless use of a firearm (sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun), two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm in motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of a firearm obtained by crime and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm. The teen made his first court appearance Wednesday.
Eighteen-year-old Walter Goodwill is facing 16 charges, which include careless use of a firearm (sawed-off .22 caliber), careless use of a firearm (sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun), two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm in motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of a firearm obtained by crime, two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, possession of ammunition contrary to prohibition order, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose (four machetes), carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized and breach of probation. Goodwill made his first court appearance Wednesday.
25-year-old Eddie Sangwais is charged with breach of undertaking and made his first court appearance Wednesday.
