The CFL is having a great start to the 2017 season!
Instead of dwelling on reviews and officiating, here is the positive story that should be pointed out.
Scoring is higher. Offenses are most successful. Two and outs are way down and penalties are down as well.
The games, if you believe it, are moving faster and the rule changes that came into the league two years ago to give receivers and offenses more room are working.
Then there are the close games. Fourteen of 21 games have been decided by a touchdown or less.
The league is getting back to where they were a few years ago when attendance and ratings weren’t an issue and TSN wanted to pay up to lock in as the exclusive rights holder to the league.
Now, the league needs to tweak the challenge system so the attention is more so on the aforementioned facts, rather than the warts of review and Toronto attendance.
