It’s out with the old and in with the new at Regina’s old Scott Collegiate.
Demolition is underway at the North Central school.
It began last week on the west side, tearing apart non-salvageable pieces of the building to send to the dump.
According to Regina Public Schools, the demolition will then move eastwards and is expected to wrap up by Sept. 15.
Some bricks will be recycled to help fix up the historic Donahue building in Regina’s downtown, while remaining bricks will be used to repair similar schools in the city, like Kitchener School.
The cost of the demolition is pegged at $500,000.
