If that wasn’t a statement game, I’ll have to take a look at the definition.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders controlled the B.C. Lions from start to finish in a 41-8 pounding of a team that did the same to the Riders the previous week.
The concern in Saskatchewan was it was going to happen all over again at Mosaic Stadium and the team would be declared dead.
But there is more than enough life for this 3-4 team in the West Division.
While they are still two wins back of 4th and the crossover spot, the Riders gave themselves hope and a little bit of confidence and that mixture can go a long way in the making of a competitive team that Chris Jones is trying to put together.
Now they have to win on the road.
If they were to beat the Edmonton Eskimos in two weeks when their bye week ends, that would make a believer out of many that this team has finally turned a corner.
But again, we have to see it to believe it.
