If you’re going to walk the walk, you better talk the talk.
Marshawn Lynch sat out the national anthem during the Oakland Raiders first pre-season game and Thursday was the first chance media had to talk to him about it.
He refused to comment and, to that, I chumped him in on the Green Zone.
If you’re going to take a stand by sitting the national anthem, you better be able to explain yourself.
Colin Kaepernick, Michael Bennett, Malcolm Jenkins have all faced the media and explained quite well why they would make a protest during the national anthem. Athletes are in the spotlight and if they are going to protest, they better have a good reason.
Lynch is either too arrogant, ignorant or stupid to realize that. And what good does a protest do if you’re not going to explain what you’re protesting.
Or maybe he’s not protesting anything at all. Maybe it’s just Marshawn being Marshawn, but that isn’t a good enough reason to sit out the national anthem nor stay quiet about it.
