Regina Evraz employee union issues strike notice

Work may be coming to a stop at the Evraz steel plant by the end of the week.

United Steel Workers 5890, the union that represents Evraz workers in Regina, issued a strike notice to the company Monday.

The notice is for 6 a.m. on Friday morning, with the last shift for the workers taking place Thursday evening.

Evraz North America Vice President of Strategy, Christian Messmacher said in an email, it’s their policy to issue no comment during on-going negotiations.
