Roger Goodell has won again. The man who holds all the power was able to win in arbitration against another of his super stars.
There are questionable pieces of evidence in the Ezekiel Elliott case. The NFLPA has put out a lot of information about the woman who has accused Elliott of domestic violence to taint her story. The NFL has done the same about Ezekiel Elliott.
This is murky water that surrounds one big topic in the NFL. Does the league do enough against players and do they support victims of domestic violence.
The Commissioner wants the answer to be yes in both cases so Roger Goodell, to save face and try to do what’s right in the court of public opinion gave Elliott a six game suspension.
The arbitrator agreed but the fight isn’t over. Much like Tom Brady, Elliott and the NFLPA will exhaust all their legal avenues against the league and Goodell’s six game suspension.
This case is much more important than the air pressure in footballs and threatens the reputation of the league, the commissioner, Elliott, the NFLPA but sadly, the alleged victim as well.
And in reality, nobody should actually stake claim to a victory however this case concludes.
