Is it time to write off Darian Durant?
Is it time to say the career is over and that Chris Jones was right to send him out of Saskatchewan?
Is he ‘moderately successful’?
Durant is playing so poorly in Montreal of late that it is easy to answer yes to those three questions.
Part of me thinks there aren’t many quarterbacks who would be able to win with that offensive line or offensive scheme in Montreal.
Durant’s play is part of the problem, as witnessed by the amount of pigskin seen skipping off the turf in Montreal on Sunday.
This is his worst stretch of play in his career and when it’s coming at the same time as his 35th birthday I think it’s more than fair to start asking these questions.
While, I’ll never concede it’s fair to call what Durant did in Saskatchewan ‘moderately successful’, the Riders are proving on the field that Chris Jones wasn’t wrong to trade him.
As for the bigger picture for Durant’s career? I’m hesitant to say anybody is ‘done’. Travis Lulay and Ricky Ray were supposed to be ‘done’. So to was Henry Burris at one time.
But it’s definitely not looking good.
