Darrell Davis: Linking the sports world

Football players in London, the United States and Regina linked arms during the weekend to continue a high-profile, year-old protest against racial inequality.

It’s nearly overshadowing the sports world because the entire world is talking about Donald Trump, the U.S. president, at least until he provokes his North Korean peer into nuclear war.

Apparently, us white guys aren’t supposed to talk about it on our sports shows, so we’ve been told, even though a racist, old white guy degrades athletes – mainly black athletes – who don’t respect him. Trump is the despicable, divisive president of the United States.

Thankfully, NFL owners aren’t listening to his advice to fire employees who won’t stand for the national anthem, but NASCAR owners are evidently appeasing their fan base by threatening dismissal for any drivers who don’t kowtow.

Sounds like sports and politics are totally integrated now. Everyone link arms.
