Mark Messier is her distant cousin, but this Sask. hockey product is carving her own path.
Sports fans have some good ideas, if only the powers that be listen would a little more often to the costumer.
I love seeing the CFL and the NHL now listening to the fans in regards to the coaches challenges that have ruined, or at least diminished, the entertainment value of the product.
First it was fans in the CFL who have had enough of the fishing expeditions of coaches looking for illegal contact down field and then devising game plans around it.
How many fans said just give them one or none at all? Well, the league went to one per coach and it has improved the game.
Then the NHL comes out and says an offside challenge that is not overturned will result in a delay of game penalty for the head coach. How many times did that solution come up during the Green Zone during the ridiculous challenges last year? Plenty.
If only they’d listen to the fans more often. The customer is always right after all.
