Shots were fired into the Spices of Punjab restaurant early Saturday morning.
Regina police said they were called to the 300 block of Victoria Avenue East around 5:12 a.m. for reports of a gun going off.
When they arrived, officers discovered multiple bullet holes had pierced through the restaurant’s front window and the two layers of front doors had been completely shot in, leaving behind only the door frames and countless shards of glass.
Around 1 p.m., family of the owners told 980 CJME that the inside of the restaurant was covered in food and looked as though the culprits had a “very messy party.”
One relative said that they believe the owner was present at the time of the shooting; however, they’re not certain if he was inside the restaurant or his vehicle when it happened.
Behind the restaurant, the rear window of what is believed to be the owner’s SUV appears to be shot out.
Relatives said the owner is fine and is just shook up from the incident.
Police have confirmed nobody was injured in the shooting.
Officers are still trying to find a suspect and continue to investigate.
Those with information are asked to call Regina police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
