Three people from Regina are facing a number of drug and gun-related charges following a traffic stop by Estevan RCMP Saturday.
Mounties pulled over the vehicle after they suspected it was involved in a dangerous driving incident. On that traffic stop, officers found 38 grams of cocaine and arrested two women ages 51 and 35 for possession of a controlled substance.
According to police, one of the women arrested was also later found to be hiding a small amount of crystal meth in her body cavity.
Further investigation led RCMP to search a rural property near Frobisher on Sunday. There, officers seized “one kilogram of crystal meth, 300 grams of a cocaine-based substance and a .22 calibre assault-style rifle.” street value of the crystal
According to RCMP the street value of the crystal meth is about $140,000 and the cocaine is worth $34,000.
After the seizure, a 60-year-old man was arrested on a number of drug trafficking and gun-related charges — including possession of a firearm while prohibited.
The 51-year-old woman from the traffic stop is also now facing additional charges involving drug trafficking and guns.
All three of the accused are set to appear in provincial court Tuesday.
