You may notice a slight increase in security at Regina’s Brandt Centre.
“Safety is a top priority,” said Shalyn Kivela, corporate communications manager with Evraz Place. “In light of the recent world events, we have introduced some extra security precautions that weren’t in place before.”
Kivela said all guests will be subject to a search with a hand-wand metal detector. Bags and purses will also continue to be checked.
Kivela said they are always looking at their security and take into account events that are happening in the world.
“While we don’t see an increased risk for our facilities, we also do these things for peace of mind for our guests.”
On Sept. 30, a man ran over four people in a U-Haul truck and stabbed a police officer multiple times following an Edmonton Eskimos game.
People are encouraged to show up early so they can still get into events on time.
