I knew it was coming. Sooner or later the NFL owners and Roger Goodell were going to finally start feeling the pinch and start demanding or maybe more politely negotiating with the players to get them on their feet.
This is a money problem for the NFL as their TV ratings and their attendance are taking a hit and more people cite the ongoing protests as the reason, with politics bleeding into sports.
It’s not why I turn on the TV on Sundays nor is it anybody else’s intention to get into a political debate over a football team or player.
The NFL is a business after all — an entertainment business at that — and the game on the field is more entertaining than the politics off of it.
The big billionaires’ wallets are a little lighter and they want change.
But so to do the players and now there is room for the players to negotiate using the owners’ money for social awareness on the issues they are kneeling for.
Maybe more noise will come of their silent protests and start affecting change while the owners will get their players back on their feet.
