'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
People are invited to watch the west grandstand at Taylor Field come down Friday.
A controlled collapse of the grandstand is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., weather permitting. Wind direction and speed have to be optimal for the collapse to happen.
Spectators can watch the demolition from a designated area on the south side of the stadium. The collapse is said to happen quickly, so people are advised to arrive early.
The west side of the grandstand had been a part of the stadium since 1978. Most of the ramps and stands have been removed with a high reach excavator over the past month.
