A 25-year-old Regina man’s charges were upgraded to manslaughter after a victim of an assault died from his injuries.
Darwin Sheppard was originally charged with aggravated assault after an incident on Oct. 15. this year.
Police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Queen Street around 11:30 a.m. for a report of an injured, unconscious man.
Brendan Ross Akachuk, 25, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later died in hospital.
Sheppard made his first court appearance on the new charge on Oct. 23.
