Atkinson street death deemed city’s 8th murder

Regina police are now investigating the death a man in the Eastview neighbourhood as a murder.

Officers received a report of a man, who did not appear to be breathing, outside a house on Atkinson Street between 4th and 5th Avenue on Wednesday around 8 a.m.

Police and EMS confirmed the man was dead when they arrived.

This is the city’s eighth murder of the year. Police believe at this time there is no risk to the public.

Police said the man, who is in his mid-twenties, has been identified but his name will not be released as police look to notify the man’s family.
