Get ready for a jam packed festival, Saskatchewan!
Country Thunder Sask. announced most of its lineup for next year’s country music festival held near Craven.
Big country music acts include Chris Young to perform Saturday and Big & Rich who will headline the additional day added to the concert on Thursday. Both acts join Luke Bryan who was announced last year as the Sunday’s main stage headliner.
The final act — Friday night — will be announced this Friday at the Roughriders game against the Montreal Alouettes.
“I know that Chris (Young) and Dean (Brody) playing together on Saturday night is going to be a pretty rip roaring night,” said Gerry Krochak, director of marketing and media relations with Country Thunder. “I hate to tease, but the Friday announcement at the Roughrider game is going to be something else!”
Canadian music hit-maker Dean Brody along with fellow Canadian Lindsay Ell will take to the main stage. Country great, Clay Walker will perform hits like She Won’t Be Lonely Long, What’s It To You and Fall.
New music group, LANCO who have recently topped the charts with their hit Greatest Love Story will join other acts including Saskatchewan native Jess Moskaluke along with the Hunter Brothers.
A trio performance dubbed Roots & Boots is comprised of country classic artists Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye.
Additional day added
New this year will be a fourth day. Thursday night entertainment will be added to make the festival more like the County Thunder’s in the U.S.
“Outside of our (three day) festival in Alberta, our other festivals in the U.S. are four (days),” Krochak said.
“So we wanted to bring it in line and make sure that people are getting a little extra value.”
Krochak said the price will be the same as for years past.
“We’ve made a lot of improvements to the site, so to be able to utilize it for an extra day, and give those campers and people out for a fun time, a little bit extra is nice,” he said.
