Sask. minister Kevin Doherty resigns from cabinet

Saskatchewan minister Kevin Doherty has announced his immediate resignation from cabinet.
The Regina MLA said Monday he needed to focus on family issues that have arisen recently.
The province’s former finance minister, Doherty was appointed to Minister of Advanced Education in August. Herb Cox will now re-enter cabinet to take on the portfolio.
Premier Brad Wall thanked Doherty for his service as a minister.
