East vs. West has been the CFL tradition forever.
But the tradition is starting to grow a little tiresome as one division continues to dominate the other and for the second straight year, the crossover team from the West will have a better record than both teams from the East Division.
Whether it be the Riders or the Eskimos travelling to Ottawa and Toronto, the team with the best record will be the road team.
It happened last year as well. And yes, I know, the Eskimos didn’t win the East Final — but it’s getting more than frustrating to see the Roughriders and Eskimos be 3rd and 4th ranked teams in the CFL and the 5th and 6th best teams get a better deal come playoff time.
Commissioner Randy Ambrosie needs to do one of two things this offseason. Either weigh the schedule so the East plays more games against the East, rather than currently playing more games against the West.
Or he should get rid of the divisions. I know the world is not fair, but this is getting ridiculous.
